This volume features two poems by the noted John Milton, illustrated by Birket Foster. The two poems included are L'Allegro, a pastoral poem, and Il Penseroso, a contrasting pastoral poem about contemplation, with the works being intended to compliment and balance each other.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally generally smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities, particular to the head and tail of the spine, resulting in slight loss to the cloth. The odd mark to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright with scattered spotting, heavier to the occasional leaf, including the table of contents.
