Unpaginated but circa 2000 pages.
This edition was printed by G. E. Eyre and W. Spottiswood, "printers to the Queen's most excellent majesty, for the British and Foreign Bible Society, instituted in London in the Year 1804, and sold to their subscribers at their Depository, Earl Street, Blackfriars, London".
With the Old Testament including: The Pentateuch, Historical Books, Poetical & Wisdom Books, Major Prophets and Minor prophets and The New Testament containing: The Gospels, History, Pauline Epistles, General (Catholic) Epistles and Prophecy.
Bound by Eric Sweet, a keen collector of private press and fables. He studied at the Brighton College of Art, before moving to London to work as a lettering artist and typographer for advertising agencies, later becoming the head of Birmingham School of Printing. Sweet's bindings are unique and striking, reflecting the topics of the volumes in distinctive style.
Condition
Bound in full vellum binding. Externally, excellent, with very slight rubbing to joints. Spotting to endpapers. Very minor damp staining to front free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages slight age toned, but otherwise bright and clean. The odd spot, heavier to first and last few leaves.
