This work was first published in 1858, and lightly pokes fun at the country lifestyles led by wealthy Victorians.

Robert Smith Surtees (1805-1864) was an English editor and novelist, most widely known for the cockney character of Jorrocks. 

This work was illustrated by John Leech with thirteen colour plates, as well as engravings throughout. Collated, complete.

Condition

In a half crushed morocco binding. Externally generally smart, with some light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little spotted and offset opposing plates.
