First edition. Published from the original manuscripts. A collection of letters from James Boswell, a Scottish biographer, diarist, and lawyer, written to William Johnson Temple, an English cleric and essayist. Both figures are now remembered as correspondents of one another. With letters from 1758 to Boswell's death in 1795.
Condition
Bound in half brown calf with marbled boards. Externally, very smart with light fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark.
