This copy is a sixth edition.

Both volumes have been lavishly bound in the publisher's original gilt decorated cloth and blind stamped.

Both volumes contain 7 illustrated plates and an illustrated frontispiece with tissue guards. Collated, complete.

This is a two volume natural history work by Mile Sophie Ulliac Trémadeure. Designed as an educational dialog, the book introduces readers to zoology, botany, and minerology through accessible conversations and vivid illustrations.

Ulliac was a 19th century French writer, educator and advocate or women's and children's education. She is best known for her works that make science and literature accessible for young readers, in particular, girls, during a period when formal education or young women was limited.
