Illustrated with a tinted lithographic frontispiece and fifty-eight monochrome plates, most being double page spreads. Collated, complete. 

William Humber's heavily illustrated study on cast and wrought iron bridges and girders, a comprehensive work on railway structures. The work covers notable structures such as the Stamford bridge viaduct, the South Staffordshire railway aqueduct, and the Chelsea suspension bridge. 

Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards.

Condition

Bound in contemporary calf with marbled paper to the boards. Externally generally smart with rubbing to the boards, joints and extremities, a slight lean, front joint staring and rear tender, and the odd mark to the boards. Binder's label to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned pages and light spotting to the extremities of the plates.
