Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was an American poet, known for being one of the 'Fireside Poets' from New England. He wrote many lyrical poems, as well as poems based in mythology and legend. Longfellow was one of the most popular American poets of his time.

Illustrated profusely throughout by John Gilbert, engraved by the Brothers Dalziel.

Bookplate of John Carteret Hyde Seale to the front paste down.

Condition

In a full morocco binding. Externally, smart. Very light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Spine is very lightly faded. A few minor marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some scattered spotting.
