The work covers the history of the 'Waltham's House' which was was built to accommodate the Abbots of Waltham Abbey when they had business in London. The work covers the purchase of the ground and the building of the house by Abbot Walter, and the history of the house discovered through antiquarian records and documents.

Bound in contemporary half calf with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, fading and loss to the spine, with marks to the boards and rubbing to the extremities, spine and boards. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned pages with light spotting, heavier to the front and rear. Author's signature to the title page.
