The complete poetical works of Sir Walter Scott, a Scottish novelist, poet and historian who greatly influenced European and American literature. Many of his works remain classics of European and Scottish literature, including the novels Ivanhoe (1819), Rob Roy (1817), and Waverley (1814), along with the narrative poems Marmion (1808) and The Lady of the Lake (1810). This volume includes important titles such as: The Lay of the Last Minstrel, Marmion, The Lady of the Lake, The Vision of Don Roderick, Rokeby, The Bridal of Triermain, and many others. With all his introductions and notes, as well as various critical readings and commentary from the editor. Edited by John Gibson Lockhart, a Scottish writer and editor best known as the author of the seminal, and much-admired, seven-volume biography of his father-in-law Sir Walter Scott.

Condition

Bound in full calf with gilt. Externally, sound with light rubbing to the extremities and small marks to the boards. Small cracks to the joints at the head and tail of the spine with minor loss to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Minor age toning to the extremities.
