Illustrated with a hand coloured lithographic frontispiece, and with a folding map and a tinted lithograph. Collated, complete.
This work offers an account of Napoleon’s first exile, drawn largely from local testimonies and the papers of residents.
The work also includes details of the journey to the island, legends collected from the time, and Napoleon's departure.

Condition
In a half morocco signed binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Light rubbing to centre of boards. Back strip a touch age toned, as is common with navy morocco. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to leaves surrounding plates, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
