    A scarce first edition. 

    William Clark offers a zoological study systematically presenting the marine shell-bearing molluscs of Britain, arranged 'in their natural order on the basis of the organisation of the animals'.

    Clark provides references and notes on all of the British marine testaceous species, focusing on anatomical criteria, and discussing geographical distribution.

    With the Vernon family bookplate to the front pastedown.

    In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Head of rear joint, and head and tail of front joint starting, with boards firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
