The first edition of this very scarce work.

Complete in six volumes.

The collected works of Robert Sanderson, a seventeenth century theologian and casuist. 

This set includes many sermons, as well as 'De Obligatione Conscientiae Praelectiones  Decem', 'Praelectio Inauguralis', 'Eleven Cases of Conscience Determined', 'Episcopacy, as Established by Law in England, Not Prejudicial to Regal Power', 'Oxford Reasons Against the Covenant', 'Articles of Visitation and Inquiry Concerning Matters Ecclesiastical', 'Pax Ecclesiae', 'Logicae Artis Compendium', 'Physicae Scientiae Compendium', and more.

'Logicae Artis Compendium' is a fascinating long treatise on logic. First published in 1615, it a popular work which went through at least ten editions during the seventeenth century. His 'Cases of Conscience Determined' explores casuistry.

Also including Izaac Walton's 'Life on Sanderson'.

Condition

In a full vellum binding. Externally, generally smart, with spots and marks to the boards and spines, as is usual with vellum. Light bumping to the extremities. Minor rubbing to the spine labels. Rear hinge of Volume III is starting slightly but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with scattered spots, mostly to the first and last few pages.
