Written by Doctor John Doran, an English author who wrote on a wide variety of subjects, in particular social history. 

Rebound in cloth, with small portion of original back strip laid down, and with endpapers renewed.

With the bookplate of Martin and Pamela Finch to the front free endpaper. They were antiquarian booksellers with an interest in antiquarian gastronomy.

Rebound in cloth, with endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Small portion of publisher's original back strip laid down. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, but generally clean, with the odd handling mark.
