What Our Customers Say...
Description
Leather Binding
This edition of Shakespeare's complete plays includes the supposed emendations discovered by Shakespearean scholar John Payne Collier.
Collier's greatest claim to notoriety came in 1853, when he announced that he had discovered a copy of Shakespeare’s 2nd Folio (published in 1632), extensively corrected in a mid-17th century hand. However, the claims were challenged over the next few years and were eventually exposed as forgeries by the British Museum, inevitably staining Collier's reputation among his peers.
