A vanishingly scarce anthology of the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Held in only two institutions, the Danish Union Catalogue and Danish National Bibliography and Royal Danish Library.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, and one plate, by Henry Warren.

Including a total of twenty-four of Andersen's beloved tales, such as 'The Tinder-Box', 'The Red Shoes', 'The Little Match-Girl', 'The Wild Swans', and more. This volume also includes some of his lesser known tales, such as 'The Galoshes of Happiness', 'A Good Leap', 'The Flying Trunk', 'The Elf of the Rose', 'The Darning-Needle', 'The Shirt-Collar', and more. 

Andersen penned many beloved fairy tales noted for their darker tone, tales which have inspired ballets, plays, and numerous animated and live-action films.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, with renewed endpapers. Externally, lightly rubbed with a few minor marks. Tears to the joints, with a small amount of cloth to the joints and spine. Minor bumping to the extremities. Spine is age-toned. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with scattered spots.
