Description
Leather Binding, Scarce
Second edition. Scarce work. The story of two Scotch children, found in Russia, who were taken care of by the French soldiers. One of the soldiers, a Breton, tried to make them forget how cold and hungry they were by telling them tales of his native country, Brittany, and would continue until Kenneth or Effie would interrupt him with an eager question. This volume recounts the best tale that they were told. Written by Charlotte Mary Yonge, an English novelist, who wrote in the service of the church, her abundant books helping to spread the influence of the Oxford Movement. Bound by Morrell, Frith.
