Volumes I-XIV are published between 1852 and 1860 by James Hogg, while volume XV is the final volume of Adam & Charles Black's fifteenth volume, published in 1863.

Best known for his 'Confessions of an English Opium-Eater', many scholars believe that with this work De Quincey inaugurated the tradition of addiction literature in the West.

Condition

In full calf signed bindings, with extensive gilt detailing to back strips. Externally, excellent. A touch of rubbing to back strip heads and tails, and joint heads. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright.
