Illustrated by the renowned 'Phiz', with an engraved title page and frontispiece and twenty-four monochrome plates to 'Vol I', and a monochrome frontispiece and twenty-two monochrome plates to 'Vol II'. Collated, complete. 

Charles Lever's novel with themes of social commentary, set in nineteenth century society, and following the lives of three men from different classes. 

Bound in half calf by Fletcher, with their binder's stamp to the front pastedown. 

A complete two volume edition.

Condition

Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards. Endpapers and blanks renewed. Externally slightly faded to the spines, with light rubbing to the extremities and joints, and light rubbing to the boards. Binder's stamp to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with bright pages and occasional spotting.
