The work of German composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early Romantic period, Felix Mendelssohn.

An anthem for a Mezzo-soprano solo with chorus, on the subject of the 13th Psalm.

The music was originally composed to Charles Bayles Broadley's metrical paraphrase of the 13th Psalm.

Contemporary bookseller's stamp to title page tail.

An excellent example of this very scarce vocal score.

Condition

In cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart, with light fraying to head of back strip, and faint marks to centre of front board. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to title page, with a touch of spotting to heads of leaves of final 20 leaves. Light edgewear to leaf heads, with the odd small closed tear. Instances of light marginal pencil notations.
