With a discussion of the life of Milton by Rev. John Mitford.

Retaining the original half title to each volume.

In charming tree calf bindings.

Volume V and VI are dated 1863, with the remaining volumes dated 1851. 

With the morocco bookplate of W.A. Foyle of Beeleigh Abbey to the front pastedown of each volume. William Foyle founded Foyles bookshop in 1903 alongside his brother. He purchased Beeleigh Abbey during the Second World War, an impressive twelfth century monastery in Essex. Beeleigh housed his library, one of the largest private libraries in England.
