What Our Customers Say...

Description

Robert Burns (1759-1796) was active in the second half of the eighteenth century, and is widely celebrated as being the national poet of Scotland, writing primarily in English using a Scots dialect, and a pioneer of the Romantic movement. He penned the lyrics to 'Auld Lang Syne', the popular ditty sung on New Year's Eve. He influenced many later Romantic poets, such as Wordsworth, Shelley and Coleridge, and his influence spread as far as the USA and Russia.
