Five essays bound in one volume. With his Ranke's History of the Popes, Gladstone on Church and State, The Life and Writings of Addison, Horace Walpole and Lord Bacon. Thomas Babington Macaulay was a British historian and Whig politician. He wrote as an essayist and reviewer and his books on British history have been regarded as literary masterpieces.

Condition

In a half calf binding with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart with patches of rubbing to the extremities and to the joints, particularly the front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the odd spot throughout.
