What Our Customers Say...
Description
Colour Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Very Scarce
A very scarce work. A complete atlas, illustrated with twenty-nine coloured maps. The work shows the entire world, as well as giving information on the population of towns, the height of mountains, and the length of rivers. Engraved by a J. Brown. This is possibly Joseph Brown, an English engraver who first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1833. He used both stipple and line for his engravings, and worked from paintings by artists such as John Hayter, John Opie, George Perfect Harding, and George Romney. Undated, dated from Copac from a copy held at the National Library of Scotland. Collected, complete.
