This nineteenth century travel work details Methodist Missionary Reverend Walter Lawrys' journey through Tonga and Fiji, describing mission stations, and their establishing of chapels and mission houses, as well as observations of the local people, including their religious and social customs, as well as societal and political structures.

Condition

In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally smart, with slight bumping to the extremities, resulting in slight lifting to the head and tail of the spine. The odd mark to the boards. Front hinge reinforced. Bookseller label to front paste down. Internally generally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with just the odd spot and handling mark. Tape reinforcements to folding map.
