The first edition of this very scarce work.

Illustrated with four colour maps. 

An transcript of a public discussion between the Reverends R. P. Blakeney and J. M. Naghten, which took place between the 30th January and 1st February 1850. 

The discussion was brought on after Blakeney, whilst delivering a lecture at Worksop on the nature of popery, was interrupted by Naghten, defending his church. Thus they arranged this public discussion to continue their debate

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, worn, with loss to the backstrip. Light bumping to the head of the spine and to the extremities. Discolouration and light marks to the cloth, marks heavier to the rear board. Hinges are starting but firm. Prior owner's ink and pencil inscriptions to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean.
