This volume collects together the mathematical questions which had been included in the Senate House examination papers from 1838 to 1849. A useful work for reference or study.

From the library of American-British mathematician David Singmaster, with his ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Singmaster was emeritus professor of mathematics at London South Bank University, and was a puzzle historian, a big fan of mechanical puzzles, and an early adopter and promoter of the Rubik's Cube.
Condition
In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, a little worn and rubbed. Loss to the tail of the spine, smaller chip to the head. Tear to the head of the front joint. Minor marks to the boards and spine. Spine label is rubbed and chipped. Labels to the joints. Ink to the rear board. Front joint and hinge are strained. Institutional label to the front paste down. Ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Loss to the head of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots. Stamp to the reverse of the title page. The occasional pencil mark to the margins.
