A very scarce language study on Bengali, written by William Yates, an English Baptist missionary and orientalist known for his Bengali translations of the Bible. Yates' translation of the bible was met with controversy after he and his partner translated one work to align with Baptist beliefs and not every denominations values.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, front joint tender and rear starting, light fading to the spine and extremities, minor edge wear and the odd minor mark to the boards. Owner's inscription to the front free endpaper, with light spotting to the endpapers. Front hinge held by cords after pp. viii and to the rear to 424. Internally binding tender in places with cords showing, the odd page weak nearly disbound. Pages generally bright with occasional age toning, and the odd spot, heavier to the rear.
