The very scarce first edition of this work, rarely seen in commerce. Looking at the scientific progress in civil engineering, in particular in the formation of roads, canals, railways. With detailed notes on the construction and measurement of such works for the facilitation of labours of practical men.

Ex library in library cloth binding, library stamp to rear board and verso title page. Library shelf number to spine.

Condition

Rebound in full cloth from the Liverpool free public library, gilt lettering to spine. Externally sound with light bumping to head and tail of spine, boards lightly soiled, spine darkened. Internally, firmly bound. Minor handling marks to title page, pages otherwise generally very clean throughout.
