Charles St. John was an English naturalist and sportsman, detailing in this work his experiences with salmon fishing, poaching, and stag and fox hunting, with a series of chapters on the natural history of Scottish wildlife.
Condition
Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, wear to the extremities of the boards, with light rubbing to the marbled paper to the boards. Spotting to the endpapers, with a binder's label to the rear pastedown. Internally firmly bound with only the odd minor spot, heavier to the front and rear few pages.
