Full bound in the original publisher's blind stamped limp cloth.

This is a charming work of children's fiction published by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge. details a growing friendship between two young boys, William and Arthur, in a story which emphasises the importance of keeping promises and acting selflessly.
Condition
In the original publisher's full limp cloth binding. Externally, sound with dulling of the cloth, a few minor handling marks, and rubbing, heaviest to the fore edge and joints: in the latter's case, resulting in a split to the cloth. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities. Endpapers have some cockling, fractional closed tears, and chips. Previous owner's inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper. Internally, binding is strained with sections coming loose. Pages are lightly age toned with mild spotting, handling marks, a few tidemarks, and marginal closed tears.
