'Narrative of a Mission to Bokhara' details Wolff's journey into Central Asia to investigate the fate of two British officers, Colonel Charles Stoddart and Captain Arthur Conolly. He ultimately discovered that both had been executed by the Emir of Bokhara. Despite the Emir calling for Wolff's own execution, he ultimately escaped and shortly after published this work.
Condition
In the publisher's original blind stamped cloth. Externally generally smart with bumping to the extremities resulting in slight loss to cloth of head and tail of the spine. Prior owner's bookplate to front paste down. Internally binding has failed between pages 194 and 206 with gatherings detached but present. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting, much heavier to the plates and first and last few pages.
