In a half calf binding with cloth boards and a gilt decorated spine, bound by Aubrey Binder of Salisbury (binder's stamp to front paste down).
Miss F. Child's presents the tale of a solitary spinster who becomes haunted by the imagined presence of a child, and accompanies it with a collection of local tales and ballads tied to the ancient Close of Salisbury.
Illustrated with a frontispiece and two further plates. Collated, complete.
Condition
In a half calf binding with cloth boards and a gilt decorated spine, bound by Aubrey Binder of Salisbury (binder's stamp to front paste down). Externally, generally smart. Leather is rubbed, particularly to joints and extremities. Handling marks to cloth boards. Shelf wear to cloth board edges. Front hinge is starting but firm following the title page. Rear hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright with heavy spotting only to first and last few leaves.
