An early Victorian edition of the Book of Common Prayer, including the Administration of the Sacraments and Other Rites and Ceremonies as prescribed by the United Church of England and Ireland.
Produced just decades after the formal union of the Churches of England and Ireland (1801), this edition reflects the unified liturgical standards of the Anglican Communion. It contains the complete order of services, sacraments, prayers, psalms, and rites, including the Litany, Holy Communion, and Baptism, as well as daily offices and seasonal observances.
Condition
Bound in full morocco by C. Stocken. Rubbing and bumping to extremities, resulting in slight loss to morocco at head and tail of spine, and corners. slight chipping at joints at head of spine. The odd handling mark to boards, with slight rubbing. The odd handling mark to endpapers, with a small ink scription to front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned with the odd spot, heavier to first and last few leaves and fore edge.
