A complete four volume set. The series is split into three 'books', with 'Book II' being split between volumes II and III. 

Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards, with gilt tooling to the spines. 

Illustrated profusely with several hundred vignette woodcuts. 

An extensive and detailed historical account of England during the reign of George the third, written by George Craik and Charles Mac Farlane. This comprehensive historical study covers the accession of George II in 1760, up to his death in 1820, discussing the subjects such as the state of religion, industry, and manners and customs in England during this time.

Condition

Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards. Externally very smart with minimal edge wear, and slight fading to the spines, and light rubbing to the boards. Internally firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages with the odd minor mark and spot, heavier to the blanks. Minor tidemarks to blanks of 'Vol I.
