The first edition of this work, illustrated with a portrait frontispiece.

A charming collection of songs and poems about angling, arranged by each month of the year. Phillips's poems are accompanied by the corresponding sheet music.

With a former owner's inscription to the head of the front free endpaper, and a further inscription - dated 1845 - to the recto of the frontispiece, addressed to Thomas Hellers.

A charming celebration of the joys of angling.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Joints starting, with boards firmly held. Inscription to head of front free endpaper, with further inscription to recto of frontispiece. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, but generally clean.
