'Diarii Spiritualis' details the author's spiritual experiences, and provides a comprehensive and philosophical study of the human mind, and how humanity is connected to the spiritual world.
The entries collected in this work were originally written as scribbles in the margins of another work.
Emanuel Swedenborg was a theologian, philosopher, and mystic, best known for his 1758 work on the afterlife 'Heaven and Hell'.
The four volumes include:
Volume I contains Parts I Volumes I and II.
Volume II contains Parts II and III of Volume I, and Part III of Volume II.
Volume III contains Part V of Volumes I and II.
Volume IV contains Parts IV, VI, and VII (I, II, IV, and V). Twenty-six pages of facsimile handwriting.
Bookplate of Dimitije Mitrinovic to the front paste downs, and to the verso of the front endpapers. Mitrinovic was a Serbian philosopher, poet, mystic, and revolutionary.
Bound without Part VII (III) for Volume I, and Parts II and IV for Volume IV. Also bound without a frontispiece.
Condition
In a full crushed morocco binding, with star gilt decoration to the boards and spines. Externally, smart, with rubbing to the joints and extremities. Spines are a little discoloured. A touch of rubbing and a few minor marks to the boards, including a mark to the front board of Volume II. Front hinge of Volume III is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste downs, and to the verso of the front endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots.
