Lacking the very scarce four pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of Volume II, as is typical with this work, otherwise complete.

The work of Ernest, or Ernst Dieffenbach, who was the first trained scientist to live and work in New Zealand. In this travel work, Dieffenbach provides an account his travels under the auspices of the New Zealand Company. Notably, Dieffenbach was one of the first Europeans to visit the Rotomahana area in New Zealand.
Condition
Rebound in half calf. Externally smart with slight rubbing causing minor lifting to leather. The odd mark to the spines. Internally, title page to volume one detached but present, otherwise firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot and handling mark.
