The 'Waverley' Novels are a long series of historical novels that were among the most popular and widely read in Europe. Despite their popularity, Scott did not publicly reveal his authorship of them until 1827. Titles such as 'Ivanhoe' are particularly credited with popularising the use of medieval settings and chivalric romances.

Condition
Uniformly bound in signed full tan calf by Hayday, with decorative gilt to the spines. Externally, very smart, with scattered spots and marks to the boards. Some rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with occasional scattered spots concentrated to the plates, however engravings themselves remain pleasing.
