Uniformly bound in signed full tan calf by Hayday, with decorative gilt to the spines.

Illustrated throughout with steel engraved plates and in-text wood engravings, as detailed below. 

The 'Waverley' Novels are a long series of historical novels that were among the most popular and widely read in Europe. Despite their popularity, Scott did not publicly reveal his authorship of them until 1827. Titles such as 'Ivanhoe' are particularly credited with popularising the use of medieval settings and chivalric romances.
