First edition, in a half calf binding with marbled boards.
Published as part of Sir William Jardine's Naturalist's Library, which covered a variety of topics relating to the natural world. Jardine was a Scottish naturalist, known for this particular series.
This particular volume was Volume XII, Part III, on the topic of ornithology, relating specifically to rasatores and grallatores. With a memoir of Scottish minister and natural historian, John Walker.
Illustrated with thirty-four hand coloured plates. Collated, complete.
Condition
In a half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, generally smart, with slight rubbing. Head of the front joint starting to crack. Paper adhered to the front paste down, with ink mark of 'C.92'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with the occasional spot.
