Colour Plates, Rebound
Culpeper's 'Herbal' was an enormously successful seventeenth century work, first published as 'The English Physician' in 1652.
This work is a complete guide to herbs, discussing their medicinal and occult qualities for which they can be used, and has been a standard reference work for pharmaceutical and herbal knowledge.
Culpeper's aim for this work was to make medical treatments more accessible to the public, intending to educate them about herbs which could be used to help maintain their health.
