Illustrated with eleven plates of hand drawings, including a frontispiece. Collated complete.
An informative guide on the treatment of care of hounds in relation to fox-hunting. With anecdotes and accounts from various masters.
Added to the rear is a Kennel Stud Book, showing the pedigrees of many of the most celebrated packs of fox-hounds in England, originally published in 1840.
It includes a list of the hounds belonging to those such as Queen Victoria.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, with heavy fading to the spine and some of the front board. With rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Marks to the boards, including a damp stain to the front. Internally, with a few pages loosening but generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. With offsetting to the endpapers and occasional spotting, heavily concentrated to the leaves around the plates.
