A beautiful volume exploring the striking scenery of Canada.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, an engraved title, and sixty-two plates. Collated, complete.
Illustrated by W. H. Bartlett, drawn from his four voyages to the United States and Canada between the years 1836 and 1852.
In the autumn of 1836 Bartlett visited Niagara Falls in the company of the American author, poet and editor Nathaniel Parker Willis, who provides the text accompanying the plates in these volumes.
Including plates and passages dedicated to locations such as the towns of Nova Scotia, Lake Ontario and Quebec.
Condition
In a half straight grain morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, a little rubbed. Minor shelf wear to the head of the spine and to the extremities, with a small amount of loss. Spine labels are lifting. Torn label to the tail of the spine. Light marks to the boards and spine. Dampstain to the rear board. Spots to the endpapers. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with the occasional scattered spot.
