An exposition on the locomotive steam-engine, explained in an accessible manner for the public.

The author wrote this work based upon his experience of several years working on a line of railway in the locomotive department, during which he had much practical experience on the working of the engines. 

Illustrated with one folding plate, and a few in-text figures.

Collated, bound without the folding frontispiece. The folding plate is worn, with loss.

In a modern quarter calf binding with cloth to the boards, with renewed endpapers. Light fading to the leather. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots. Bound without the frontispiece. The folding plate is worn with significant loss.
