The story included in this volume was originally published in 'The Family Instructor' a hundred years prior, a conduct manual on religious duty written by Daniel Defoe. 

'The Two Apprentices' takes the form of a dialogue amongst a trading man and shopkeeper who grow up lifelong friends and speak of their family's relationships with faith. 

Condition

In quarter calf with marbled boards. Externally, smart, with rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine. A few scuffs to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright, with scattered spots. Contemporary ink inscriptions to the front pastedown and front free endpaper.
