What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Original Binding, Very Scarce

The first edition of this very scarce work.

This volume solves the questions posed in Charles Hutton's 1798 work 'Course of Mathematics'.

This is Thomas Stephens Davies' most important work, and provides solutions for four thousand mathematical questions of varying interest and degrees of difficulty.

From the library of American-British mathematician David Singmaster, with his ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Singmaster was emeritus professor of mathematics at London South Bank University, and was a puzzle historian, a big fan of mechanical puzzles, and an early adopter and promoter of the Rubik's Cube.
