With an engraved frontispiece to volume one and publisher's anchor to title pages of all volumes. Collated complete. 

A smart set of the desirable Aldine edition, notable for its high editorial standards. Contains Spenser's Magnum Opus, The Faerie Queene, an epic poem which celebrates the Tudor dynasty and Elizabeth I. 

Condition

In full calf with gilt detail to spine. Externally smart with rubbing to joints and extremities, and marks to the boards. Evidence of bookplate removal to front paste downs. Hinges to volume three and five strained. Internally binding strained in places. Pages bright and clean with just the odd spot and handling mark heavier to the first and last few pages.
