The fourth edition of this work in a full speckled calf binding. Stamps to the half title page. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece of Bougainville, a title page vignette, and two further intaglio prints of Jean Bart and Dugay Trouin. Collated, complete. A collection of stories of maritime adventures and accidents, including shipwrecks, from the 15th to the 19th century, with information for navigators and naturalists, for the education and entertainment of the young. Written in French by the prolific author Pierre-Jean-Baptiste Nougaret.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Externally sound, with rubbing to the boards, spine, joints and extremities, not affecting the spine label. Internally, firmly bound. A scattering of spots throughout.
