    Volume I illustrated with a frontispiece and nine plates, one of which is folding, and volume II with frontispiece and twelve plates, a number of which is folding.

    Collated, complete.

    A Royal Navy officer and historian who served in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, Edward Pelham Brenton presents an account of the actions of the British Navy between 1783 and 1836.

    With the bookplate of Richard Lane Freer, Archdeacon of Hereford from 1852 to 1863, to front pastedowns, and the bookplate of D. M. Coffin to front free endpapers.

    Condition

    In a half calf binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Rubbing to back strip head and tail and joints, with further light rubbing to centre of volume I front board. Bookplates to front pastedowns and free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with instances of spotting and offsetting throughout.
