Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece, vignettes and three monochrome plates. Collated complete. 

This work was written by Joseph Hemingway and provides a directory to the city of Chester. The work described the city and its market towns as well as discussing its history and antiquities.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth. Externally sound with marks to the boards and spine, bumping to the extremities, front joint tender, cockling to the rear, fading, loss to the tail corner of the title to the front board and minor loss to the cloth to the head of the spine. Front hinge held by cords with scattered spotting to the endpapers and tidemarks to the tail corners to the rear. Internally binding tender in places. Pages lightly age toned with spotting and tidemarks to the pp. 219 - iv.
