This work contains the series of essays that marked Francis Bacon's first published book. They are written in a wide range of styles and cover topics drawn from public and private life.

Topics include 'Of Death', 'Of Goodness and Goodness of Nature' and 'Of Parents and Children'.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, with tidemarks to the boards. Light rubbing and bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, generally firmly bound with the front endpapers loosening but attached. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd spot to the first few leaves.
